About Ted Hepenstal

  • Biography

As an artist, I want to develop paintings that speak both to me and to others about the beauty that I see in the world. I love to paint landscapes and townscapes, particularly scenes in my home county of Hampshire.

I am influenced greatly by artists such as Van Gogh, Kandinsky and Cezanne, and use bold colours in my paintings in the hope to capture moods, emotions and also create a sense of connection to a location.

I paint for the pure enjoyment of it and desire to share this joy with others.

My paintings are made by using a variety of mediums including acrylic, gouache, oil pastel, ink, collage and pencil.

I have exhibited paintings at Winchester Cathedral and also the Business Design Centre, Islington, as winner of the Abstract and Experimental category for the Society for all Artists.
