    The Grand Finale!

    The Grand Finale!

Concentrating hard while painting Liu Bolin's face during the grand finale of The lnvisible Man performance for Mehta Bell Projects and START Art Fair at the Saatchi Gallery yesterday afternoon. What a week! And what a highly charged last hour! It was such great fun and I am so, so grateful to have been part of this experience. Looking forward to seeing the final picture! I guess you can see why I loved working on this project so much. Not only were ALL the people involved super nice (imagine that!) but just look at all those colours! I could not have asked for a more perfect background to paint. We used my favourite Winsor & Newton acrylics for the whole project. Guess Who's In The Papers?!

    Guess Who's In The Papers?!

It's me! I am featured in this week's Ham & High edition on page 13. The paper is available to buy from newsagents around North London until Wednesday 20th September and the story is also available on their website and on their FB page. I'm very grateful to Jonathan King for picking up my story straight away and writing this lovely piece so quickly. I am grateful for the opportunity to show my work through this much appreciated newspaper. My aim is to bring joy and happiness to people's lives through my work and I was hoping to reach more people in my local area this way. It worked! Thanks to this story I have already booked three new client meetings and one of them might be a sausage dog commission. How cool would that be?!

Assisting Liu Bolin At START Art Fair at Saatchi Gallery

Assisting Liu Bolin At START Art Fair at Saatchi Gallery

Thanks to mehtabell_projects I have been given the opportunity to work with the amazing Liu Bolin at the Saatchi Gallery for START Art Fair and this is what such an adventure lookd like in the flesh: over five days Lucy Fyffe, Olivia Crane and l (in white) gradually camouflaged Liu Bolin against this stunning background until he vanished thanks to an optical illusion. It was great fun!

    Colouring Pages Are Here!

    Colouring Pages Are Here!

Earlier this year I decided that I would add colouring-in pages of my mosaic designs to my portfolio. Today this has become reality with my first colouring-in page completed. It is already sold as it was a company commission, but more will follow soon and they will be available to buy as digital download for private use, most likely via etsy or my own website.

    My Work And I

    My Work And I

In early summer I had a wonderful visit from my American friend. We spend a lot of time out and about and when I returned to the studio I took this picture. The starfish was the newest painting in the photo and the snake painting had just been sold.

Last Day At Atelier School - For Now ;)

Last Day At Atelier School - For Now ;)

It was an exciting day today at The London Atelier of Representational Art, my last day at school for a while. My critique was almost derailed when I realised I had left half my work at home. Fish brain anyone! Luckily my dear friend Terry went all the way to my house, fought his way through the jungle of tidy chaos that's my studio, packed up three drawings and nine paintings and delivered everything to me in time for us to have a delicious lunch together. I was very touched by his kind generosity but he just shrugged it off and said "Call me Hermes'. Classic Terry! As if that wasn't enough amazing support I received today the brilliant Ethan gave up a good chunk of his drawing time to take a whole bunch of photos of me with my artworks, charcoal and chalk figure drawings, gesture studies, quick sketches and of course my Mosaic Paintings. I love how this picture shows all my work together so you can see what goes on behind the scenes, the training that goes into my paintings.

    Working Anywhere

    Working Anywhere

The best thing about planning out new paintings in watercolours is that I can work anywhere. The best thing about getting places early is being able to sit down and paint. The best thing about being able to work anywhere and wanting to get lots of work done is getting places early and thus always being on time 😊Win/win/win
