  • Biography

Although I graduated from University with an analytical degree in economics, I’ve always had a creative drive. From decorating and remodeling our family home, making and selling jewelry, candles and lotions, doing floral arrangements for parties and events to building barn wood tables and wine barrel chairs, I’m always happiest when I’m in the middle of a big mess that comes together in my signature style. When my daughters went away to college,  I found I finally had the time to pursue serious art and started oil painting . I studied under a few locally renowned artists. As my painting progressed, I was feeling limited by painting from reference photos, I wanted to infuse more excitement into my artwork. I experimented with mixed media and discovered the freedom to color outside the lines and express myself with bold gestural marks, this inspired me to shift my focus to abstract art. The graceful lines of nature’s oceans and florals, as well as the geometric design of city skylines influence my paintings. With a palette in mind, I use a variety of methods to apply texture, scrape and splash paint and conceal and reveal design elements as my vision forms into shape. Through the rich layers of my art I celebrate the simplicity and complexity of everyday life.
