The Brick Lane Gallery is a contemporary fine art gallery which exhibits an eclectic variety of contemporary art by British as well as international artists from all corners of the world.
Established in 2006, the gallery presents an integrated programme of exhibitions, including solo-shows as well as group exhibitions of emerging and established artists from all artistic backgrounds.
Biography
Any space between the figures exposes a background, which gives them context and narrative: Books only come alive when they are read. The passing of time and trends will shape a reader’s interpretation of a book. These are often reflected as annotations that a reader leaves behind. Instead of an annotation, Cain interprets and paints a contemporary presence of the reader, character or author, which provides a connection between the figures and the narrative. The subjects are turned away from the observer, seemingly engaged in the narrative, which remains magically elusive.
