This is a most amazing drawing! There is so much detail in it that each time one looks at it, another surprise is discovered. Sometimes art is bought for the subject matter, the colors, or to create a pleasing space on a wall. This particular drawing was purchased from pure fascination. It is cheerful, a bit comical, yet soothing and rather enchanting. The line work is incredible. A great purchase!

Love the new drawing I received from Spencer J Derry Art. The Monkey’s Paw is one of my all time favorite stories and this piece really ties everything together. The art made the international trip safely - can’t wait to get it framed and hang it up.

Political satire, through the ages, has contributed to our understanding of historical events, namely the First, and Second World Wars. In this piece, Spencer cleverly chooses specific canines to depict the two great opposing forces that participated in the First War. The more concentrated ink that Derry uses around the profile of the Dobermann helps to portray the role of Germany during the war.....as the aggressor. The use of grey throughout the picture depicts the emptiness, and desolation of the no man's land. Excellent work!
