About Samvelas Gandžiumianas

Cinematographer, photographer, artist of light, creator of various installations and interesting, undiscovered creative activities. Samvelas was born in beautiful Armenia, city of Yerevam – land of great mountains. Samvelas has been interested in cinema from his childhood. As a ten-year-old, he participated in various cinema festivals for children, took part in extracurricular film activities. In 2002 Samvelas studied cinematography in institute in Moscow and graduated as a cameraman. He started to work for documentary and animation studio as a cameraman assistant. While studying, Samvelas filmed 10 works and lots of various short films. Now filmography of Samvelas Gandzumianas is filled up with some serious films, such as „Mama“ (2010), “Book Carriers” (2009),”Afghan Freedom” (2012) and “City of Butterfly” (2017).
