  • Biography

. Denied early opportunities to paint, I kept my oil paints for 50 years and started in earnest on retiring. Consciously and Subconsciously my whole life has been spent with this creative urge, yearning to recreate sights and events around me. Somehow over the years I have absorbed these feelings that now evolve in my work. I paint quickly with passion and pent up energy, I instinctively apply paint straight to the canvas, not drawing or sketching, starting with the shadows and overpainting to let the lower layers show through. in awe of the effects paint can produce, enthusiastic with every brushstroke, music in the background, at last realising a lifelong ambition.
I paint because my heart tells me to.
