About Paula Brett

As a painter, I create intuitively with life-force energy. I want the viewer to experience a sense of joyful intimacy with the work, where one is transported into a beautiful, rich world of wonder and contemplation. The forms and rhythms are derived from landscapes observed and remembered. I make these paintings quickly, working through many versions to create works that have depth and luminosity in each layer. The paintings are colorful, gestural, abstract paintings in both large and small scale.
