    Exposing an image

    The process of lithography works through exposing a black film onto a plate using UV light. The image here shows how my film looked just before being exposed to the UV light.

    Mixing Inks

    All the prints I have created start of with me mixing up a batch of ink. The inks are oil based linseed inks so its very tricky working with this thick consistency. Once you get the right colour though it is very satisfying as the oil based inks really come through.

    In this picture you can see a very rare printing press used to print a photo-plate lithograph. This is how I created grand old tree and this was the setup I had. It is tricky getting your head around lithography, but once you get the hang of it, you can create truly beautiful and complex work
