    The Time travellers - Athlone

This shot was taken during the opening of my very first solo exhibition in Athlone, Ireland in 2014. The installation was quite interesting, the collages have been placed in a very long line, and has been hung with a tiny magnet on the wall.

This photo was taken at the very beginning of the day, during The London Artisan event.

    Events - The London Artisan

On December 2016 I have made my first market, taking part to The London Artisan event. I was thrilled and quite nervous too, but I brought with me some paper masks to cut to win the fear and to break the ice with the public. It was an amazing experience, quite stressful too!

Working on abstract collages and drawings

Working on abstract collages and drawings

Although my interest s mainly focused on figurative art, the decorations done over the vintage portraits are purely abstract forms. Because of this reason, on 2016 I started to work on abstract collages and drawings, mixing and matching my deep interest in geometric and organic forms, combined with paper cuts and bright colours.

    Paper crochet masks

    Paper crochet masks

As my first prototype came to life, I thought to continue in creating other crochet masks of different colours and patterns. In this way my collages can come to live, and anyone can take part in becoming a "living collage".

    Working on collages

    Working on collages

My art research is mostly focused on collages realised over vintage found photos, postcards and vintage vinyl covers, that are my starting point for the creation of my handmade collages. In this picture I am holding some of the collages done in the beginning of 2017. These are bigger than the usual, I was lucky enough to find some vintage larger photos to work on. The average dimension of my collages are postcard sized.

    Crochet Mask Portrait

    Crochet Mask Portrait

The crochet mask became a signature in many of my artworks. In this portrait, I wear my very first experimental paper mass, similar to the ones that I use to cover the faces in my collages. Crochet Mask Story I chose this weird mask as a logo, because is a signature element that is frequently present in my art collages. The story behind it is quite unusual. The crochet mask was literally a vision that I had a night in 2013. I wanted to do something into my artworks connected to this visionary element. The result is this mask, and now a lot of my subjects wear it! The mask is also a personal celebration of Carnevale (Carnival), an Italian festivity that I truly love.

    Holding "Fortuna"

    Holding "Fortuna"

I rarely worked on canvas, and usually they are tiny pieces. This collage, called "Fortuna" (Fortune), is the biggest collage attempt done in the last years. About Fortuna “Fortuna” (Fortune), is dedicated to an Italian crime news that caught my attention and moved my soul. In 2014 a six years old girl was thrown down from a building and found dead, two people were arrested and accused of the crime (the case is still open). Suspects are also under investigation for sexual abuse on the killed child and on other kids living in the building. The dynamics of this story are more complex because of the reluctance of the people living in the area in collaborating with Justice. I wanted to tribute the sad protagonist of this horrible story, focusing my work on a personal celebration of childhood and its innocent beauty.
