This was my first purchase on Artfinder and it was a commission! I came across Mike's work online and was disappointed that the 'Interloper' piece was sold, so I commissioned a similar piece for my new home. Mike was in touch with me throughout the process sharing potential options, until I had what I liked. Mike was also patient with my specific choice of frame, a thicker black frame to highlight the piece to my liking. Thank you Mike, I will share a final photo once I can hang the picture in the new house.

Painting for me is as much about making someone happy, and hopefully doing so for a lot of years, as it is creating an artwork. I'm very privileged to do this for a living. A beautiful little picture. I bought this for my partner’s birthday. She is a bird nut and I know that she will be as thrilled with the painting as I am. It’s going to look fantastic when it goes up on the wall. Excellent communication from the artist regarding despatch times, packaging and aftercare. The frame was very well chosen and complements adds the work. I would definitely buy more of Mike’s artwork. All in all, a very positive experience for my first venture into this exciting world of art

Wittingly, Amazingly, creatively talented; comes to mind in describing Mike Skidmore’s work. Seeing the world objects, animals and humans, fitting them into a painting in which not what they are but could be. A true master and gifted artist. A new day in age Norman Rockwell at his best! I am honored to own one of Mike Skidmore’s commission pieces.

Awesome work. Commissioned piece...kept me informed all the way through with lovely updates and some really interesting insights into the whole process. Delivered my painting in person with some little extras for my children. Such a lovely man and a super super talented artist. You will not be disappointed in any dealings with Mike.

Thanks so much for this it's really appreciated. All you missed off was my stunning good looks, six pack and iconic fashion sense (I wish)! Apart from that it's an awesome review. What a lovely man to deal with - through email communications, I got to know a little bit about the artist which makes my picture even more special. I have mentioned his work to so many people and I am now saving for my next picture. I am definitely overwhelmed with the quality of his work and the subject matters. I hope Mike can keep up with the demands. My picture will be passed to my children. Thank you Mike!

Thank you so much for this review, it matters a lot to me. As for the 'lovely man' I'm going to show your message to my wife to see if I can get her to the same opinion!! I love it when people really appreciate my work because it can be a lonely existence locked away in a studio for days on end. All artists suffer confidence issues from time to time (it stops us being too overbearing I think), but you have put a spring in my step and I'm off to do some painting! Mike
