  • Biography
I have an innate need to create art in drawing and painting and I've been doing that for over 40 years. My mother recognized my talent long before I did, urging me to be an artist. I studied art and art history in college and I took my gift seriously in my mid 20's when I started painting in watercolor. Andrew Wyeth and Paul Cezanne are my inspiration. Wyeth, for his realism, and Cezanne for his making the painting, not the subject, his vision. Van Gogh's use of color motivates my color choices in the abstracts that I do. I alternate between realism and abstraction. Abstract painting keeps me loose because I paint spontaneously, letting the color choices and shapes arise intuitively.

I love to look at all kinds of art genres because I learn what the artist is trying to say. Music, poetry, theater, history and literature add to my aesthetic knowledge and art appreciation.

My most notable commission was a portrait of Prince Norodhom Sihanouk and his wife Princess Monique of Cambodia. It's hanging in their palace.

My paintings hang in many corporate collections, law firms, government offices, and with private collectors in Florida and throughout the United States.
