  • Biography
Nature is my source for endless subjects, from simple forms to complex patterns it is always compelling. It is abstract and exotic, with repetition of shapes and patterns, the interplay of light and shadow along with the amazing range of colors. I am pleased to share my interpretation of the beauty we have around us.

In all things of nature there is something of the marvelous." Aristotle

I believe everyone should own original art. Art is a stroy, an inspiration, a feeling or emotion that we all relate to in our own individual way.  I pick particular views based on how they affect me. Often it's how light and shadows create shapes and images,  sometimes it's the beauty of looking at things close-up, or the repetition of shapes or lines that create a pattern.  I paint with acrylic paints, I actually like that they dry fast, it keeps the color fresh and I can build the painting with layers. I mainly paint botanical images and landscapes but I also paint figures, portraits...whatever inspires me.

Born and raised in Colorado, I began my study of art as a teen at Rocky Mountain School of Art. I attended Colorado State University, but received my BFA from California College of Arts in Oakland, CA.  Always in the creative mind, I spent many years in marketing and advertising first as an illustrator & designer, then art director, creative director and agency owner.  But painting has always been my joy, relaxation and passion. Over the years I continued my art edification at  Art Students League of Denver, Rocky Mountain College of Art, Colorado Art Institute, Arapahoe Community College and  Pacific Art League.
