About Manuela Stoicescu

My work is about the link between things and emotions. There is a subtle alchemy in the relationship between material objects and sensations, and my photography aims to capture that transmutation. I believe that, while portrait and landscape photography are over-represented, still life is less used to tell stories, and that's where my art fits in. I am interested in the raw, unadulterated feelings one experiences when coming into contact with objects, and the way they embody, contain, transport, transform and symbolize human existence.
