About Luke Agnew

  • Biography
My current work attempts to depict characters within the animal kingdom observed whilst out exploring the British wilderness. The ongoing series includes a wide variety of wildlife, some well known and others less so. All works in this collection are created to depict characteristics of the subject as well as the subjects physical form. For example; the inquisitive predatory nature of the fox the deadly razor sharp vision of the heron, the poised breakneck dive of the kingfisher, the regal prescience of the red stag. My artworks usually feature a multi layered stencil as the focal point and mixed media backgrounds. I favor Montana 94’s or Montana gold acrylic spray paints but employ various waxes  and paint effects to enhance the artworks to the desired standard. My profession as a picture framer enables me to display works creatively and to a high standard.
