Reflecting back on my path as an artist, I can recall that to me, a blank piece of paper was always an open space, where I could create my own worlds. Ever since I was a child, I used to observe the world and admire its beautiful colors and shapes. My desire to become an artist came gradually, when I became consious of my aspiration to bring in my own colors and lines. I spent my childhood surrounded by the beautiful mountains of Armenia and its wonderful landscapes have left a powerful mark on my vision of the world. Ancient castles, churches, fortresses, the beauty of the stones themselves, the colors of the sunset and the burning sun of famous paintings by M. Saryan, the breathtaking silhouettes of Roerich mountain chains – all of that shaped my small world-my Armenia. Now the geography of my world has expanded greatly and my interest has shifted to busy cities and the lifestyle of people who live there. Portaits and the fast pace of the modern world became a part of my life, and I began my career as an artist, trying to perfect my technique with each and every line. My studies at the Moscow State Academic Art Institute named after V.I. Surikov of Russian Academy of Arts, my inspiring and enriching collaboration with well renowned artists, along with hard work and long hours in my studio allowed me to master my technique in all genres of painting - still life, portraits and nature and to express my colorful vision of the world in my works.
