About Lauren Mclaughlin

  • Biography

I'm a multi media artist living and working in Edinburgh, Scotland. I studied Fine Art at Central Saint Martins College of Art, London graduating in 2012, and have since exhibited my collages and neon installations throughout the UK and Europe.

My inspiration mainly comes from found images, vintage magazines and postcards become merged with contemporary imagery and text to create figurative works which evoke some sort of emotion, memory, nostalgia or sense of place.

My neon and sculptural installations although seemingly rather different to my other works, I see them all as being  interconnected with themes of femininity, motherhood, domesticity, family, gender roles and them media.
