About Julija Jankelaityte

  • Biography
With over 40 private and public collections in only 12 months time in the career, Julija is a quickly emerging contemporary artist. Collections cover Europe, USA and Asia.

Born in Lithuania, Julija studied Fine art in London Metropolitan University, to create she have traveled and lived in  Zurich, Vilnius, Vienna London and Berlin, where her first group show took place.

As an up and coming artist Julia is constantly exploring the ways to bring up  significant global topics in a wonderful aesthetic.

In her works, Julia explores the human condition through colour, texture and distortion. Her figures often reflect long term emotions, reaching the viewer through the gut feeling rather than a clearly presented fact.
Distortion and deconstruction in both form and colour makes Julija's works appear as a memory or even a dream - it's artist's digested view of humans communicated in a subconscious manner.
