About Jona Mauthe

  • Biography
I was introduced to art at an early age during summer museum trips with my family. This experience exposed me to the vibrant colors and creative minds of artists such as Piet Mondrian, Pablo Picasso, and Salvador Dali. I'm primarily an abstract painter who is influenced by science, nature, and society. My creative process and approach are to harmonize a sense of structure with my designs.

    Event: RAW: VERSE

    Dates: April 19, 2017 - May 19, 2017

    Venue: The Pourhouse, Minneapolis, Minnesota

To provide independent artists within the first 10 years of their creative career with the tools, resources, and exposure needed to inspire and cultivate creativity. RAW ventures to provide the platform for these artists to be seen, heard, and loved.

RAW showcases indie talent in visual art, film, fashion design, music, performance art, hair and makeup artistry, and photography.

RAW is a fun and alternative way for artists to showcase both to their local community and the world-at-large.
We are not your average art show. We are loud, colorful, creative, and all about our artists. We are RAW.

Event: New Hues: An Exhibition of COLOR!

    Dates: March 8, 2017 - April 23, 2017

Venue: NWMAC Gallery, East Grand Forks, Minnesota

A new collection of colorful art has arrived–just in time for Spring! The NWMAC is excited to exhibit the works of inspiring regional artists alongside special guest artists from throughout the state of Minnesota. NEW HUES will be open March 8 through April 23, 2017 at the NWMAC Gallery in East Grand Forks.

Soft or bold, face-first or fading away–these works of exemplary technique use color to enlighten, embody and set apart their subject matter from the stark, contrasting nature of… the ordinary. Artists from Northwest Minnesota include Joel Miller & Sue Suess of Raven Works Forge in Roseau, Therese Jacobson of Alvarado, Phyllis Kalliokoski of East Grand Forks, Stephanie Olson of Thief River Falls, Alicia Spilde of Karlstad and Elizabeth Rockstad of Ada. Our special guest artists from throughout Minnesota include Abigail Kramer of Detroit Lakes and Jonathan Mauthe of St. Paul.
