About John Dawson

  • Biography
I have been a working professional artist for the last 45 years. My entire income has come from my art work, mostly oil painting, but also works on paper, prints, sculpture, and mono prints. I've had over 60 one man shows from coast to cost and a number of museum exhibitions. I have about 20 instructional videos on YouTube with over 450 subscribers.   My mono prints have sold very well. Mono prints are unique, hand painted, one of a kind prints. If included on your site, I would feature mostly mono prints along with a few paintings. The mono prints are reasonable priced and easy to ship. I would also like to include fine art prints, which are true prints, hand drawn, hand printed, limited edition etchings, not digital reproductions. I'm including a short bio. John Dawson is a gifted figurative artist who specializes in works of fine art which are personal, perceptive, and psychological in nature. He has exhibited from coast to coast, having had one man exhibitions in both New York and San Francisco, as well as numerous exhibitions in between. Graduating from Northern Illinois University with a BFA in 1969, and Arizona State University with a Master of Fine Arts degree in 1974, he has worked as a professional artist for more than thirty years. He has had more than sixty   John has shown in approximately 50 National and Regional Competition Exhibitions,   His work is represented in numerous public and private collections such as the Phoenix Art Museum; El Paso Museum of Art; Oklahoma Art Center; Ulrich Museum of Art, Sheldon Memorial Art Gallery; University of Nebraska; Scottsdale Center for the Arts; Tucson Museum of Art and the Department of Agriculture, Washington, D.C. John's work has been extensively reviewed in various publications, including Art News, Artweek, Southwest Art, and Art Voices South, as well as many local newspapers and magazines. He was selected for the book "World Artists 1980-1990", edited by Claude Marks, published by H. W. Wilson. He has a published book "Dawson - Thirty Years".
