  • Biography
My name is Jim Afroukhteh and I am a 65 year old artist living in Atlanta, GA. I immigrated to the United States in 1983, worked various odd jobs for a multitude of years until I found my way into selling antiques - which I did for a number of years. I was exposed to the world of art, the various mediums and found myself educated through the necessity of trying to make a living for myself and my family. The necessity grew into its own passion and I have been painting now for approximately 19 years, primarily focusing on large oil paintings (though many different categories for style). I am giving Artfinder a chance because it appears as though they have a good relationship with artist and those who purchase them. I am hoping that my work won't just get buried in a seemingly endless amount of data and nonsense - as appears to be the trend on many other sites.
