Finding the design of man and nature that one doesn't usually see is my goal. I look at a building for the details, the textures, the negative space it creates. The patterns of light and shadow that fall onto it during the day. I find the "design" in the elements that the architect so artfully designed. In the city and in the desert.
The hard edges of the buildings in the cities of the world are as interesting as the deserted gas stations along Route 66 in the Mojave Desert. Nature and mans neglect have taken over these once proud buildings along what was the "Nations Highway". The main road from Chicago to Santa Monica in the 40's to the 60's until the Interstate took over.
