  • Biography
My name is Jess and I am a self-taught artist, living and working in West Wales.  I paint original pieces, using professional acrylic paint and canvas.  Abstract pieces, exploring the use of colour and movement in applying the paint are what I love to create.   I love lots of vibrant colour and feel my work reflects this.

I enjoy using different forces in applying the paint.  Whether that be gravitational force via manipulation of the canvas or pouring paint and allowing it to fall from a height.  I also really enjoy using centrifugal force via my spin machine.  I also use skewers, needles and syringes, and palette knives to manipulate the paint and create more ‘intricate’ interactions between the colours.  My rainbow coloured (pet) sheep are the inspiration for each of my painting’s names.

I just love what I do and hope that you do too.  I find colour very emotive and feel happy when I’m around lots of bright, vibrant colour.  I love the feel of the paint and working with it excites me – it’s almost an escape from reality.  This is why I paint.
