Biography
Jeff
was born in Englewood, New Jersey, grew up in New York City and relocated to
Salt Lake City in the ’90s. He started a photography and cinematography career
shooting musicians in New York clubs such as The Ritz, Mud Club and CBGB’s. He
shot The Rolling Stones, Tina Turner, and other music legends from Al Hirt to
Willie Nelson. In addition, his production company was the production company of
record for French National Television (TF1) in New York. In New York he also
produced AT&T's first interactive commercial projects.
In Salt Lake, with TeleScene, Silver Creek and New Moon, Jeff directed
broadcast commercials for automotive clients including Ford and Nissan Motor
Companies. His cinematography was commissioned by the Utah Travel Council, the
US Ski Team and Warren Miller Entertainment. Utah corporate clients included
The American Linen Corporation (Alsco) and Myriad Genetics for multi-discipline
media projects. Environmental photography projects included work in the Costa
Rican rainforest with the World Bank. Awards included multiple Broadcast
Designer Awards and several ADDY’s. He was also a finalist in the International
Monitor Awards for best achievement in a national commercial.
Today, Jeff builds photographic narratives, defining particular places by
their balance between isolation and strength. Lincoln County was the first of
these projects manifesting essential American character and grace.
