  • Biography
My inspiration comes from a wealth of resources of my own life experiences and through years of  world travel. My latest work has lovingly evolved from marine and coastal influences through time spent on location studying pattern, form, light and texture.  The application of paint reflects my emotional response towards the subject which are conveyed with an impressionistic and semi abstract approach. I still, always maintain elements of representational value by staying true to the elements which led me to painting the subject initially. I hope, that I  convey  to the viewer a sense of emotion and mood which was present at the time of painting.  I love to use subtle tones, whilst adding harmony, depth and drama, which are apparent in my brushwork and other unconventional ‘tools of the trade’ These painterly instruments (fingers and hands included) allow me to make full use of textural interpretation. I have learned much from the masters of impressionism, but Monet and Matisse alight my heart and soul.
