  • Biography
Jakob Kohlmayer is an Austrian Painter and Illustrator.
Born in 1964 in Salzburg, his outstanding talent was dicovered early.
Coached by his father he began developing skills in drawing very early.
Jakob studied at the University of Applied arts in Vienna.

He started working as digital artist retouching and composing fotos when he was still studying and has been working in the field of Illustration digitally as well as analog. He is a well known Illustrator for Advertising Agencies and Film Companies.

Besides of all that Jakob Kohlmayer has always been painting. His paintings reflect the professionality and the profound knowledge of "how things look"  different, depending on the media used, which he has gained in the decades of beeing someone who produced thousands of drawings every year.

Now, Jakob's focus is on painting, on analog techniques. Digital painting has been cool for many years, but in his view it is missing the direct approach to people´s hearts.
