About Imperfect Circles of Sylvie Renault

  • Biography

    Painter, Creative, Concept Designer.

I took part in several exhibitions from 1989 onward in Rome, Oblia, Naples, Turin, Olbia, London and New York.

I got love and basics of painting from my aunt Maria Rita Renault (born in the 1935), a rare female exponent of Livorno a postwar italian artistic fervent city, that grew up my artistic side; from my father's best friend, Franco Fortunato (Metaphisic international painter, born in the 1964) and from my high school mate's father, Giancarlo D'Ascenzi (Impressionist painter, born in the 1940) which i have been lucky enough to meet and spend time with, staring them while they were painting their wonderfull pieces.

Due to this fortuitous and fortunate melting pot of experencies and influences, my passion for informal painting was born, having deep roots in my whole creativity.

Imperfect Circles is a project related to my paints and to the concept of a “perfect imperfection”.

    "Contact, clash, opposite,contrary, addition, negation.
Circle, vortex, agglomerate of feelings, a fantastic landscape where hopes and depressions die while memories live again.
Emotion turns into colour, disclousing what i feel.
    I am.
    Incontrovertibly.
    This is my painting.
    Sylvie Renault’s painting.
    Artist of Imperfect Circles.
    Imperfect painter, Imperfect woman.
On my canvas, as in the life, mistakes are not cancelled or disguised.
    Neither stressed.
    Simply accepted.
And, by accepting them  they become the main value of the work,  as in the life itself.
Because to make mistake means to live.
Feeling in love with my circles, you will feel in love with yourselves.
Because I am telling about everyone.
About all of us,  so perfectly imperfect."

"I want to thank you so much for ... " is much more than an exhibition. It is a deep experience, a suspended journey between vision and hearing, a path where painting and music choose each other and blend together, accompanying the visitor beyond the form, in the innermost core of the emotions. Emotions, revealed by the artist through her paintings, and Emotions, inspired in each of us on this journey that will let us find new hope, fingerprints and promises.

"Each painting makes us travel far away, in a rainbow of thousands of colors, of hopes, in a breach into a better world, this is Sylvie's message", says May Abboud, from the National Institute of Fine Arts in Beirut.
