  • Biography
I was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where I'm living now. I have earned a Graphic Design BFA at the Academy of Art University in  San Francisco, and also a MA in Communications Design at the Swinburrne University of Technology in Melbourne, Australia.

After working a few years in Branding, I have decided to dedicate my whole time only for my art work. What interests in art is the study of the image as its own entity, wether in painting, photography or silkscreen, etc. Different from other forms of art, such as sculpture, music, and cinema, in the image, the viewer experiences the whole of the artwork at once. In sculpture, the viewer has to walk around the space to experience it, wether in the image the space is collapsed into 2 dimensions, giving the viewer a projection of the space from the point of view of the artists "mind's eye".

The same happens in contrast with music and cinema, where the time dimension is a intrinsically part of the experience. So one can only experience the artwork as times goes by, and cannot experience it all at once, where with the image the artist can simulate time, rhythm and movement.

So what I find fascinating about the image is that it doesn't "belong" to our 4 dimensions universe, (3D + Time), but is a projection of all the dimensions, it holds them all in it self, and only comes to life in the viewers mind. It only gains space, volume, movement, rhythm, etc, from our when we look at it.
