I am Enrico Benassi, painter, set designer and designer, considered by the public and private client in Italy, an artist who represents wide-ranging research in contemporary visual arts.
Between '51 and '53, a neo-futuristic painter; for a few years then, a figurative tonal style painting according to the Tosco-Emiliana School.
Already in the 1960s I was selected to participate in countless art exhibitions by public announcements and received awards and prizes among them a prestigious award: in 1961 a first prize, the gold medal of the Senate of the Italian Republic for three exhibited works .
In the 1960's, my contemporary pictorial period for art studies ended, for new and renewed visual experiences; between 1959 and 1961 my painting, stylistically, can be identified in an expressionism between the figurative and the abstract.
With the 1960s, my research horizons were broadening . It opened for me the world of scenography, animated cinematographic and, in progress, the new commitment to a design aimed at visual communication, graphic design and advertising and exibithion design rich in scenographic and pictorial elements.
Fascinated by these new artistic expressions, imagining creative ways no longer limited to painting on canvas, new landmarks have marked up to the 2000s my artistic experience.
Since 2000 my artist's commitment has returned to focus almost exclusively on painting, a new artistic period enriched by 40 years of extensive in visual communication arts and exibition design. Thanks to my teaching skills in Drawing and Art History, and above all in the Arts of Graphics, Photography, Advertising and the Press, I have been teaching for 21 years as a professor, Visual Arts Composition ( Visual Communication) to the students of stage design, animated design and cinematographic graphics at the State Institute for Cinematography and TV in Rome, now called "Roberto Rossellini".
Beyond the teaching qualifications in Italian State schools, thanks to my qualifications and my free professional activity in the visual image in Italy and the world, as a research experience in the workshops of the school and in my workshops, I have been able to deepen up-to-date artistic techniques.
As a master designer, my work has spread over 40 years in the world of theater scenery, cartoons, cinema graphics and Italian Radio Television. I have a huge international activity as an exhibition designer for many of the largest private and public Italian companies, as a designer for global design of residential interiors; in each work I have included visual art complements.
My painting in the years 2000 oscillates between an abstract exercise of visual and figurative modes but never in my painting, although at first sight it appears abstractism, . My painting never represents a pictorial language with a purely aesthetic purpose but is loaded with an event that leads to man's life directly or indirectly by associative metaphor. Some landscapes or other visual systems may be devoid of any meaning that lurks in the life of man, but it still remains the practice of elaborating the truth.
As for my presence in social media, my site existed, , today withdrawn but available in electronic copy. This site did not intentionally highlight my work as an artist outside of the exhibition design. The site had merely a merchant orientation.
As a visual artist I never wanted to appear in social media. A monograph is currently being drafted and an anthological exhibition of my mostly pictorial works at the institutional site is in preparation.
Significantly my works, besides an innumerable array of merchant exhibit locations, are and have been present in the following places or contexts:
Paris, Grand Palais - UIC, Union Internationale des Chemins de Fer; Le Bourget, exhibition area
London - exhibition area of Farnborough
Rome - Palace of Exhibitions; art gallery of Santa Maria della Pace; Victorian Complex; Auditorium Parco della Musica; historical complex of San Michele (Ministry of Cultural Heritage); Castel Sant'Angelo - muraglioni of the dock of the Tiber; Isle Tiberina and Calata degli Anguillara; Tor of Nona - the wall of the Tiber
Florence - Municipal Theater; Congress Center; School of Architecture; Leopolda Station
Bologna - Teatro Comunale

The aforementioned sites were home to pictorial art exhibitions, theatrical scenery, urban design, animation films and cultural events in general.
