About Elena Chynchenko
Biography
My name is Elena Chynchenko. I am 31 years old artist based in Arendal, Norway. In addition to Norway, I had experience of living in Denmark, China and Ukraine, where I originally come from. This experience reflected in my paintings. In my art I often try to touch upon global problems depicting different scenes of life. For example, the problem of overconsumption, which manifests itself in different ways in different parts of the world.
I have a bachelor’s degree as a Teacher of Fine Arts from Ukraine. I worked a lot with children. They inspire me so much with their emotions and sincerity. That’s why they often appear in my paintings as main characters. Other things that I get inspiration from are city life, people, local traditions etc. My favourite medium is oil because it gives me a maximum of freedom. Sometimes I also work with acrylic, watercolours and other materials.
