  • Biography

    Domingo Arjonilla is a Spanish-born artist who is living and working in London since 2000. A self-taught artist, he took private painting and drawing lessons in Spain and did printing courses (etching and screenprinting) at Central St Martins College of Art and Design and the London School of Communication. He takes inspiration from the geometry and symmetry found in nature as well as from Islamic Art motifs and patterns.

    Event: Humble Origins: Works on paper

    Venue: BAR Gallery, 4-5 Queens Parade, Willesden Lane, London NW2 5HT

    Exhibiting art that uses paper as its medium. Humble Origins looks at the diverse ways with which paper is still widely used for art. Despite the rise of digital and the move towards technologies in our everyday lives paper is still a fertile and cherished medium for artistic practice.

    Expect to see a broad range of artwork including sculpture, drawing, installation, collage, pen & ink on paper, prints and more!

    Event: 'Take a Mallet to a Pallet'

    Dates: June 7, 2014 - July 20, 2014

    Venue: Blackhorse Workshop, 1–2 Sutherland Rd Path, Walthamstow, London, E17 6BX

    As part of the E17 Art Trail 2014, participants were asked to test the limits of what can be made with a pallet!

    Challenged to take a mallet to a pallet and transform its parts into an inspired one-off piece, my entry (titled 'Social Housing for Birds') was an over two metres high tower block of bird houses.
