  • Biography

Deb is a self taught artist living in the Hunter Valley, north of Sydney, Australia. Her style is realist and she works mainly in the medium of pastel.

Like many others, Deb’s passion for art began as a child. She would spend hours copying illustrations from storybooks, obsessing over every detail.

In 2012, after a busy life and career, Deb decided to revisit her childhood passion to see what she could achieve.

A year later, she entered her first gallery competition, the 2013 Lane Cove Art Award. Her work “Contemplating” was awarded the People’s Choice Award.

Deb’s art is recognised for both its realism and emotion. She strives to create pieces that aren’t simply realistic, but that move the viewer and stir an emotional response and hopefully create empathy and awareness.

She has won awards for both her wildlife and still life works and been a finalist regularly in group exhibitions. In 2020, she had her first solo exhibition.

Her art is now in homes across the world including the USA, UK, Africa, New Zealand and Europe.

A passionate animal lover, she is also a proud supporter of wildlife conservation and regularly donates pieces to conservation organisations in Australia and internationally.
