About Darija Prović

  • Biography
My name is Darija, and I like to think of myself as an artist.
To me art is not something I do, but it is a way of living. It is the way I see the world and the way I experience every little thing I do.
As a child I was good at drawing, I was good illustrating and coloring, and even though at that time I was not quite sure I wanted to be an artist, people around me saw potential. I was interested in music, singing, writing, dancing. I loved fashion, and loved designing clothes. As I grew older I was not sure what my calling would be, but I knew that I loved everything that was beautiful and I wanted to turn all these beautiful things into art. I had a need to express myself through art.
As a teenager, I started developing my drawing skills by observing other artists' drawings. Photo-realistic art made me push my boundaries and see how good I could become in this field. Yet I loved using colors. Different landscapes, beautiful details from the streets and vivid images of the sea, inspired me to paint.
Even though I was never trained by a professional and all I could to was improve my skills by simply observing and trying on my own, I think I have learned a lot. I still have a lot to learn, I am no expert, so I wish that the rest of my life is going to be artsy and colorful and above all inspiring.
