About Dairo Vargas

  • Biography

Dairo Vargas is an international contemporary fine artist, originally from Colombia. He specialises in abstract landscape and portraiture. While the two themes are very different in mood and style, both reflect ethereal qualities of nature and the human physical form.

Dairo’s work directly confronts the vulnerability of the physical and psychological human condition whilst offering the potential for its spiritual journeying. On canvas, the artist provokes us to consider the ultimate values of love, life, death and all else that we go through as sentient beings. The artist aim to create lyrical and abstract work inspired by dance, movement and everyday life, revealing layers of emotions and feelings immerse in our communication and interaction between people. A technologically advancing society feels liberating and brings – literally - a wealth of opportunity.

As our communications, worklife and leisure are increasingly dominated by it, we have become somewhat dependent yet still cling to the illusion of freedom. The paradox of these tensions, excitement, confusion, hopes and frustrations are represented here - as are the emotional responses to societal and attitudinal change brought about by adapting from old to new forms.
