About Cynara Mori

  • Biography
I am an inter-disciplinary artist. I enjoy a dynamic art practice which ranges in medium from Painting to raku sculpture and fibre and basket making. My work is inspired by ecology, nature and natural processes. The medium I choose is often predetermined by my concept. I feel in life one is in a constant state of learning. When I need to meditate and clear my mind, I take to abstract painting, which keeps me in the moment. When I am tired of thinking I want to do something with my hands, which is where craft practices find their way into my practice. I am also terribly inspired by my Japanese heritage, which is a constant source of new ideas. I aim to raise consciousness through my art, and connect the viewer with the non-rational.
