    About The Artist:

My name is Casey Neal and I'm a traditional artist based out of Northern Utah. I specialize in using white and black charcoal to create detailed and dramatic illustrations depicting nature. I received my first pencil set at 9 years old and have been drawing ever since. I taught myself the art of realism drawing long before attending my first art class. I eventually studied art in college and learned proficiency in charcoal drawing from one of my favorite artists, McGarren Flack. Following my art education I was inspired to leave my job and take a chance surviving entirely on my artwork. I have never looked back.

I spend the majority of my time working in the studio or photographing wildlife with my cameras. Spending most of my life in the mountains, I have developed a deep appreciation for the natural world. That appreciation for nature is surely displayed in my artwork, as I primarily draw views taken from my time in the wilderness. I capture a moment with my camera, and then I draw the moment in great detail as I work from the photo. These original drawings can take anywhere from a single day to a year to complete.
