  • Biography
Carole Jones lives in Wales, considers herself a self taught artist and enjoys using a variety of medium to express herself creatively.
Her current body of work uses paper as the medium for paper mache sculptures, being intrigued by the notion that a mass produced 'throw away' item such as a magazine can be used in a creative way to produce a lasting and unique piece of art work which has depth, detail and texture. Each unique piece is carefully modelled and covered with several layers of traditional newspaper and paste paper mache before a final coat of torn strips of magazine paper is applied. The colours chosen for the top coat often reflect the time of year and always seem appropriate for the piece.
Carole also produces mixed media paintings which are mainly water colours with some pastel work added. Worked in a loose and expressive style with close up studies of animals being the main subject.
As most artists would agree, a little bit of the artist's soul and personality are reflected in each piece of lovingly created work.
