I am a second generation artist. My Mother, Vaunda Davis, was a remarkable artist and influenced my art from childhood. I grew up in the Corpus Christi/Port Aransas area of Texas. My art is greatly influenced by the coastal area, surfing and rock and roll music of that environment. I have art in several galleries, venues and stores.
I have held a brush for almost as long as I have walked. Painting was the anchoring thread in our family’s tapestry. I was born seeing the world on a canvas.
Painting is my personal expression of the beauty I see in a split second of time. One instant, one insignificant item can be presented to the world through my brush. I present in full color.
I use bright acrylic colors because they create a mood. Bright colors awaken and affect how people feel. They excite and make the world more vibrant. I use different techniques. Brushes, pallet knifes, sponges and other items are used to make color explode or be mute on the canvas.
The reaction I get from people who respond to my art is the most rewarding part of painting. It is my adrenaline rush, my affirmation. I strive for each piece to color the viewer’s world.
