About Avag Avagyan

  • Biography
I was born in a small town in southern Armenia. I began painting while I was still in my early teenage years, greatly inspired by the beauty of the nature surrounding me. This early attraction to painting later developed into a full-blown interest towards art. In a small Soviet town, it was hard to find many people who were supportive of the young artist that I was, and constantly getting discouraged by my parents, I got into engineering university and worked as an engineer for a few years after graduation. But very soon, I left my job and began painting again and ever since I have devoted myself to art, as I had always known it was my destiny.

I strongly believe that art is there to give joy and optimism to people and I hope that through my paintings I can make people at least a little joyous and optimistic about the world around them. Nature is the core part of my paintings. For me, there is nothing more inspiring than mother nature with its endless creation and destruction. It heals and clears the mind. I try to depict the warmth and colors of nature and the beauty of life that are often left unnoticed in our new age.

This Artfinder profile is run by me and my daughter and authorized person, Emanuela.
