    On show

My paintings are on show in Harding House Gallery until 15th July 2017. I am sharing an exhibition ' My County, My Home' with two other artists. Our work is about the landscape of Lincolnshire.

    The road to work

    The road to work

I am a happy commuter. The road is short and narrow to my studio. Our garden is getting like a jungle this year with the sunny weather. It is a delightful workplace.

    It's all in the tube

    It's all in the tube

My paintbox has been stocked up with new fat tubes of colour. Now for the exciting bit...let work begin. 🎨😊

    Time for coffee?

Part of my studio and gallery. A comfortable area to consider my next move...about the paintings.

    The work box

    The work box

A jumble of colours. Strange to think this box is full of potential paintings.

    Paintbox

    Paintbox

Part of my painting corner...I have a case full of oil paint tubes....most are getting a bit squeezed now. My Whippet bed is there and a newly framed painting on the little easel.

    Oil studies drying

    Oil studies drying

A view of my studio corner with some small oil studies drying on the table. It was hot today in the sun so I fixed a large fishing umbrella to a chair for shade. I think it is time to move out into my garden studio.

    'Meandering'. Work in progress

    'Meandering'. Work in progress

Here is a close up of my larger piece on stretched canvas. It has been quite a long journey with many scrape backs and wipe overs. Sometimes it happens this way. I left it a few days ago feeling frustrated but now I am looking with fresh eyes and like the piece. I called it Meandering as it looks a calm image now...almost a gentle journey which is different to how it began.

Studio corner on a very sunny day

Studio corner on a very sunny day

Work on the easels...nearly too hot to paint. I will wait until later when the sun moves west. I have a small blue toned board on the left which I found yesterday. I might rework it a little to bring more light into the piece. The larger stretched canvas is 20x20 and I think it is finished. I will let it relax for a time.

    Underpainting

    Underpainting

Small studies on the easel. A warm oil wash is sometimes applied to the canvas board. I will let parts show in the finished work. It helps to give depth to the painting.
