About Amy Bolt (AmyB)
CFAI Summer Juried Show "Abstraction"
I started painting seriously just before my 40th birthday (11 years ago). Looking at the birthday ahead of me, I realized that I wanted to leave a mark on the world...leave something behind that I had created. I picked up a paint brush and a palette knife and began throwing paint (albeit very elementary at first). I am inspired by many things I see in life but mostly I'm attracted to the water, flowers, birds and landscapes...the things that bring me peace. I work in the legal field by day and paint by night and weekends. I work in oils and in acrylics on canvas still use either palette knives or brushes (and sometimes both).
I was honored when one of my paintings was displayed in Times Square at the 2012 Art Takes Times Square takeover by See|Me and featured for 3 months in 2014 at See|Me Galleries in New York. I have also shown my work at several local venues. My paintings are currently on display for sale at Gallery 450 in Mobile, Alabama, the Fairhope Artists Gallery in Fairhope, Alabama and Le Bouchon in Daphne, Alabama.
I'm a member of the Eastern Shore Art Center and the Mobile Arts Guild in my hometown.
