About Alexis Hervieu

Special effects make-up artist by training, I quickly turned to fields such as sculpture, moulding... sculpture, moulding... Painting was always present but difficult to apply, I could not express my feelings, my emotions on the canvas.

I had several jobs as diverse and varied, ranging from cook to assistant dental technician or even a deliveryman for household appliances...but I always attached myself to the need to create, thus allowing me to escape.
Coming from the 80s and 90s culture, I have always cultivated this spirit in my creations, going from a Lego moulding to a giant P.E.Z. light of one metre in height.
Today, we find in the paintings, very pronounced, intense, vivid colours, a reminder of of the atmosphere of those years.
Following a terrible disappointment in my life, painting came to me as an evidence. The colours blended together with a certain ease, the gesture was guided naturally, allowing me to evacuate all the sadness, bitterness and anger I had in me.
Painting allows the World to transmit what it feels, whether it is abstract or figurative, it doesn't matter, the imaginary part is always there, present, present in each of us, and it is by rediscovering this childlike, creative imagination that the magic happens. Instinct, intuition...
