  • Biography
    Alex Foster is an award winning illustrator based in Margate, UK. He specialises in map illustrations, print and editorial work.

    He has worked with a variety of clients on a range of projects including Roald Dahl, Anorak Magazine, Hallmark/M&S cards, Tote bags for Talented, books for The Poetry Society and the Folkestone triennial, as well as Illustrated area maps and posters displayed on the South Bank and London Underground. 

    He also runs the illustration-driven shop where he designs and produces gifts from clothing to personalised prints and stationery. 

    In 2015 Alex won a World Illustration Award in Advertising (New Talent). He graduated with a First class BA(Hons) degree in Illustration.

    'Inspiration for my work comes to me in many ways - From walking and visiting cities to inspire my map prints, to living by the seaside and enjoying the summer weather inspiring my Set Sail collection.
    Other illustrators, stories, nature, films, radio & podcasts, people are all vehicles for ideas for new prints to come in - inspiration comes from everywhere.

    Event: Maps and Stuff

    Dates: Aug. 31, 2017 - Oct. 28, 2017

    Venue: The Bottle Shop: Margate, Margate, Kent.

    So I've been busy in my studio for a long time now working on commissions over the internet, and thought it's about time I did a more of a public thing!

    This exhibition will feature lots of my recent work of maps and work for magazines, with most of them available to buy signed, numbered and framed or unframed.

    There will also be work from my new product range including prints, cards, notebooks and wrapping paper.

    New beer themed print FREE to the first 20 guests on the night.
