    In The Studio Silk Screening

This candid photo was taken by a friend in my studio when I was experimenting with silk screening on wooden panels gilded in metal leaf.

The Dolly Files at The New Museum

The Dolly Files at The New Museum

This fun collaborative project was conceived of by myself, and good friend/collaborator Hayley McCulloch. We scavenged the streets for materials, hitting the jackpot when we found the dresser drawers. Using the drawers as the central focal point, I built our portable flat file unit, which we then took to several locations around the streets of New York to sell our art to an engaged public. Part performance, this work was inspired by our ability to sell art on the streets, as that action is protected by the laws of free speech in NYC.

Steel Mesh Sculptural Wall Commission, Loew's MN

Steel Mesh Sculptural Wall Commission, Loew's MN

The past few years have provided me with exciting new opportunities creating large scale artwork for public and commercial spaces. In this image, I am working on an 18 ft, steel mesh wall relief for Loew's Hotel in Minneapolis, MN. I had to wear long gloves I made out of a pair of socks because the cut edges of the mesh were unbelievably sharp.

    The Wishing Tree

    The Wishing Tree

A candid shot from the de-installation of my solo exhibition, The Wishing Tree, at the Brooklyn Arts Council. Tree branches were installed along the long gallery wall, as if they were growing out of the building. Visitors were invited to write down their dreams, hopes and desires on hang tags, and place them along the tree installation. By the end of the one month show, there were over 1000 notes on the tree, written in every language imaginable. This work was inspired by Buddhist tradition, after I had spent a few months working as a painter in Asia, and a shout out to Yoko Ono's works of the same name.

    Building A Stoop

    Building A Stoop

I was invited to be part of a street art show put on by NYC's own ELC (Endless Love Crew) at Pure Projects, on Mulberry Street in downtown Manhattan. I built a stoop for people to paint, sticker, and hang out in the center of the gallery space. For over a month, the gallery walls were a changing landscape of imagery as visitors altered the scene with their own creations.

    Looking Out

    Looking Out

This photo was taken during the installation of a collaborative show at Chashama's Chelsea Art Space in New York City. We had been working thru the night to fill the 5000 sq. ft industrial space, building a lookout platform and performance area, created from reconstituted wood. Viewers were able to see the artwork from an elevated vantage point, or watch other viewers in secret from the chamber beneath, hidden by the brambles.
