This wallpiece is another which came from a sketch that's been waiting several years to be realized. Though I have been focused on my curved, chitinous forms in wallpieces lately, I still have many designs I want to make in our original style, assembled from fabricated brass boxes. When I came back to this sketch I saw its belt of blocks as a perfect place to try out some of our new cold patinas.

Like most of my wallpieces, this one can be mounted in any orientation.

The wallpiece is built from many thin-walled brass boxes folded from sheet, brazed at their corners, and patinaed with traditional sculptural patinas while heating the metal with a torch. The piece only weighs about 20 pounds and can be hung on any wall. You can use ordinary drywall anchors for normal walls. I can also provide special clips which make for a more secure installation.
