Village in Toscana, oil on canvas, 60 x 60 cm. Years ago I intended to make sketches of small villages in Toscana, and as many as possible. My plan was to combine that with the commission to paint the house of my hostess, who, however, tried to occupy my days, and I had to sketch secretly, just in the neighborhood of her house, half in the darkness.
