Abstracted impressionist landscape painting. This painting was inspired by an imminent summer downpour at Saunton Beach, North Devon. I wanted to capture the drama of the light streaming through the heavy clouds, with two figures and a power kite adding scale. Painted in oil, largely with a palette knife, this atmospheric piece is full of glorious colours and textures.
