Original artwork description:

Palette knife oil painting depicting the view down the river from the bridge in Amboise. Painted following a visit on a stormy morning, I love painting cloudy skies. Amboise is near my home in France. We visit France several times a year and it is a wonderful opportunity for me; it is quite difficult to climb down by the river so this is not plein air as most of my work however the bridge gave me a great view and the painting shows the sands banks in the foreground and the river meandering into the distance towards Tours and the sea.

Materials used:

artist quality oils on 12oz cotton duck brushwork and palette knife
