Original artwork description:

One of the paintings that I did on my recent trip to the lovely Staithes, North Yorkshire. This one was painted using gouache which is a new medium for me, but I have used it more-or-less 'as watercolour', so I'm still in my comfort zone!
This painting is my take on the view through the window of the lovely ex-fisherman's cottage that I was lucky enough to stay in called 'East View'. The red sail on the model boat in the window was what attracted me as well as the shapes of all the different furniture in the room in the semi-darkness as the light was falling and the challenge of getting the contrast in tones to the light through the window. I have used a purple/blue-grey in the room as a contrast to the vermilion reddish-orange sail on the boat to produce a colourful rendition of the scene. The painting is sold un-framed and mounted in a warm-white mount, backed and wrapped ready to frame to your own choosing. I can alternatively frame it in an oak frame if preferred, please contact me from here for this option and prices.
All my pictures are signed originals and will be sent to you carefully wrapped and insured during transit. There is a 14 day return and refund option if you are not completely happy for any reason with your picture when it arrives. Import duties, if any, are the responsibility of the buyer (but usually not applicable). My paintings have been purchased by buyers all around the world, including Australia, USA and France.
