Mountain Lupines
Lupine is the name of the flowers in the foreground. Beautiful spikes of purple flowers. Rugged mountainside in the background.
Lupine also means "wolf-like." Not sure of the connection there :-)
This painting began life as a monoprint, so it is slightly cock-eyed on the paper. Just a little bit. I rather like that about it. The ragged paint edge is preserved, and I have signed it just under the image on the paper. The paper is Strathmore printing paper.
Oil painting on paper. 8 x 10 inches unframed.
